Children’s Privacy Notice

Last updated: February 16, 2026

This Children's Privacy Notice explains how Peer10 (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information about children under 13 who participate in youth sports programs managed through our platform. This notice is directed at parents and guardians and supplements our general Privacy Policy.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), including the 2025 amendments effective April 22, 2026, and design our platform with children's safety as a first principle.

1. What Information We Collect About Children

Children do not create accounts on Peer10 directly. Player profiles for children under 13 are created by a parent/guardian or an authorized organization administrator. The information collected may include:

  • Identity information: First and last name, date of birth, jersey number
  • Team information: Team assignment, division, position preferences
  • Development data: Skill assessments entered by coaches (e.g., passing, shooting, teamwork ratings)
  • Media: Photos and game film uploaded by coaches or parents, with parental consent
  • Health information: Only if provided by a parent for safety purposes (e.g., allergies, medical conditions relevant to athletic participation)

We do not collect: social media accounts, geolocation, contact information directly from children, behavioral or interest-based profiles, or any data beyond what is necessary for the youth sports platform.

2. How We Use Children's Information

We use children's information solely for:

  • Managing team rosters, schedules, and registrations
  • Tracking athletic development across seasons (visible to parents and coaches only)
  • Generating coaching insights from game film (AI-powered, with no PII sent to AI providers)
  • Communicating with parents about their child's team activities

We do not use children's information for:

  • Marketing or advertising of any kind
  • Behavioral profiling or commercial purposes
  • Sale to third parties (we never sell any user data)
  • Training AI models

3. Parental Consent

We require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information about a child under 13. In compliance with the 2025 COPPA amendments, we accept the following consent methods:

  1. Email verification with follow-up confirmation: We send a consent request to the parent's email, followed by a confirmation step to verify it was the parent who responded
  2. Signed consent form: A parent may complete and sign a digital or physical consent form
  3. Government ID verification: A parent may verify their identity using a government-issued ID, which is deleted after verification
  4. Knowledge-based authentication: A parent may verify their identity through questions only they would know the answers to

What happens without consent: If parental consent is not obtained, we will not collect or store the child's personal information. The child will not have a profile on the platform, and the organization administrator will be notified that consent is required.

Separate consent for third-party disclosure: If we ever need to share a child's information with a third party for a non-integral purpose (we currently do not), we will obtain separate, specific parental consent for that disclosure.

4. Your Rights as a Parent or Guardian

As a parent or guardian of a child under 13, you have the right to:

  • Review all personal information we hold about your child — access your child's profile through the in-app Privacy Dashboard or request a copy by email
  • Request deletion of your child's data — we will delete all personal information within 30 days of your request
  • Revoke consent for future collection — your child's existing data will be deleted and no further data will be collected
  • Restrict collection — you may allow your child to participate but limit the types of data collected (e.g., opt out of media or skill assessments)
  • Refuse further contact — we will stop sending communications about your child while still allowing them to participate in the program

5. How to Exercise Your Rights

You can exercise your parental rights in two ways:

  1. In-app Privacy Dashboard: Log into your Peer10 account and navigate to your child's profile, then use the Privacy & Consent controls to review data, manage consent categories, or request deletion
  2. Email: Contact [email protected] with the subject “Children's Privacy Request.” Include your name, your child's name, and the organization name. We will verify your identity before processing the request

We will respond to all requests within 10 business days.

6. Data Security for Children

We apply enhanced security measures for children's data:

  • All player data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Children's profiles are accessible only within their organization — no public visibility, no search engine indexing, no cross-organization access
  • Role-based access controls ensure only authorized parents, coaches, and administrators can view a child's data
  • No persistent identifiers are used to track children across services
  • AI features use anonymized entity IDs — no personally identifiable information is sent to third-party AI providers

7. No Advertising to Children

Peer10 does not serve behavioral advertising to any users, and we do not use children's data for advertising purposes of any kind. We do not use persistent identifiers to build advertising profiles. We do not allow third-party advertisers on our platform.

8. Data Retention for Children

  • Children's profile data is retained for the duration of the child's participation in the organization, or until a parent requests deletion
  • Upon deletion request, all personal information is permanently removed within 30 days
  • Media content featuring children is deleted when the organization removes it or upon parental request
  • Consent records are retained indefinitely as required by COPPA to demonstrate that consent was properly obtained

9. Changes to This Notice

If we make material changes to how we handle children's data, we will notify parents via email and obtain new parental consent where required by COPPA. Minor changes (e.g., formatting, clarifications that don't change practices) will be posted here with an updated date.
